Many media reports on Wednesday indicate an increase in efforts by Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad to secure the signing of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool player, before the closing of the summer transfer window.
According to journalist Rudy Galetti from "Sport Italia" on his official Twitter account, Al-Ittihad sent an important delegation to the city of "Liverpool" to convince the English club and its German coach Jurgen Klopp to agree to Mohamed Salah's departure.
Galetti added: "Al-Ittihad has decided to increase the offer made to Liverpool to acquire Mohamed Salah to more than 100 million dollars."
There are only 9 days left in the Saudi league transfer season before it closes, while there are only two days left in the English league.
Express: Mohamed Salah may leave Liverpool this week
Meanwhile, the English newspaper "Daily Express" reported that Mohamed Salah may leave his English club this week, just before the deadline for the summer transfer market closure, amid reports of Al-Ittihad offering a fantastic deal to sign him.
The newspaper explained in a report on its website that although Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp stated that the Saudi club had not made an offer for Salah and that his club would certainly reject any offers, the situation may change this week.
The newspaper quoted player transfer market expert Jan Age Fjortoft as saying on X (formerly Twitter): Salah is "most likely" to leave the club in the coming days; I know very well that it is likely for Salah to leave Liverpool this week.
He added: "The money being offered for the player and the club is incredible; the fact that the transfer window in Saudi Arabia ends on September 7 also complicates things further."
The "Daily Express" concluded that Salah's departure would be a significant blow to Liverpool, as the English club would likely need to bring in a new right winger capable of replacing Salah, but Liverpool would have little time to find a suitable replacement just two days before the end of the transfer window.
A Saudi newspaper report confirmed that Liverpool's management is attempting to convince German Jurgen Klopp to agree to release the Egyptian star to Al-Ittihad and approve his sale before the closure of the current summer transfer window.
The Saudi newspaper "Alyaum" stated that Klopp has begun to welcome the idea of Mohamed Salah's departure following intensive efforts from Liverpool's management with him.
It added that Liverpool's management promised Jurgen Klopp to sign a major deal to compensate for the departure of Mohamed Salah next January.
The Saudi newspaper indicated that there is a breakthrough in the Mohamed Salah deal following indications of Klopp's approval of the offer, coinciding with the posting by the Egyptian international of a controversial image hinting at a farewell to Anfield with a glance at the fans.
German Jurgen Klopp has confirmed in several statements that Mohamed Salah is not for sale and will remain with Liverpool, most recently after the Newcastle match, which Liverpool won 2-1, when he stated: "The story of Salah's transfer to the Saudi league is over... He is staying with us."
