A fire that broke out in the forests of northeastern Canada has forced more than 9,000 people to leave their homes, and the fire has been described as uncontrolled, with strong winds fueling the flames and spreading them over large areas.
Residents of the cities of Labrador and Wabush in Newfoundland and Labrador have been instructed to evacuate their homes due to the severe fires.
Images circulated on social media show long lines of cars with drivers waiting for fuel supplies, while enormous clouds of smoke cover the sky.
This is a remote area located north of Quebec, and its residents must travel more than 500 kilometers east via the only available road.
It is noteworthy that Jeff Mouty, a spokesperson for local firefighters, stated that the fires are intense and spread at a speed of up to 50 meters per minute.
He reported that the intensity of the fire made it impossible to use water cannons.
The federal government indicated that the country is experiencing the peak of the fire season.
