WhatsApp service has returned after it stopped sending or receiving messages for some time due to a technical glitch.
Users of the "WhatsApp" application in several countries faced a technical issue with the instant messaging that the app provides.
Application users reported that they were unable to send instant messages and images and videos easily, noting that the sending time, which normally takes just seconds, doubled due to the malfunction.
The website "Down Detector," which monitors cases of failure and interruption of common internet resources, reported that "WhatsApp" users are facing issues in sending messages via mobile phones and computers as well.
The website mentioned that more than 50,000 people reported a glitch in "WhatsApp" worldwide, with the majority of reported issues being related to sending messages within the app.
The British newspaper "The Sun" stated that it contacted the app's officials for a comment, but did not receive an immediate response.
WhatsApp stated in a tweet on "Twitter" that it is working quickly to resolve the connectivity issues and will inform users as soon as possible.
