The crisis of the court trials regarding Trump's wealth continues to pursue him from time to time, as press information reported that the attorney general in New York is seeking to impose a ban on the real estate ownership license in favor of former U.S. President Donald Trump for a period of 5 years, and to impose hefty fines on him, which represents one of the most serious threats facing his real estate empire.
Accusations of illegally inflating Trump's wealth
This came during the prosecution's statement by attorney Kevin Wallace in Manhattan court this morning, in which he accused Trump of fraudulently inflating his assets, claiming that he inaccurately described his finances to banks and insurance companies, granting him illegal financial advantages that led to generating over 1 billion US dollars during 10 years "from 2011 to 2021."
New York Attorney General Letitia James also made statements to the media outside the New York Supreme Court this morning, confirming that her office is seeking to fine Donald Trump at least 250 million dollars, and she stated: "No matter how wealthy you are, no one is above the law," referring to Trump's wealth.
The trial is likely to continue for several weeks, as it is expected to last until early December, and more than 150 people, including Donald Trump, have been listed as potential witnesses. Legal experts anticipate that the majority of the trial will consist of "debates" between financial experts regarding financial documents and assessing their legality.
Trump: The court is a farce
For his part, Trump described his civil trial for "inflating financial assets" today from the court in New York as a "farce," comparing the prosecution's statement to a cinematic show, and directed sharp remarks towards the judge.
This charge that Trump and his companies, as well as his children, face is not the only accusation pursuing him; rather, he is also confronted with numerous charges regarding the illegal retention of government documents, falsifying financial records, concealing secret financial payments, and attempting to prevent his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
