The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the escalation of the occupation's aggression against the Palestinian people, their land, holy places, and properties, particularly the serious targeting of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the increase in the number of participants in incursions, and the attempts to impose new realities on it, which would lead to decisive changes in its historical, political, and legal status on the path to its spatial division.
The ministry addressed, in a press statement today, Monday, what the town of Sebastia and its archaeological area are facing in terms of assaults and violations of its antiquities by the occupation army and settler militias, in an attempt to entrench Israeli control over it, as well as the serious repercussions on the lives of Palestinian citizens due to the return of settlers to the "Homesh" outpost and its conversion into a settlement, including acts of repression and abuse against citizens of neighboring towns, incursions, and the closure of its main entrances with dirt barricades, as is happening in the town of Burqa, and the settlers' destruction of an agricultural room east of Yatta south of Hebron, and the settlers' rampages on the main streets and entrances to cities, as is constantly occurring at the northern entrance to the city of Al-Bireh, among other violations.
It stated that these violations confirm the official Israeli insistence on controlling more Palestinian land and practicing the most heinous forms of ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem and throughout the areas classified as (C), within the framework of the creeping gradual annexation operations of the occupied West Bank, designating the largest area of it as a strategic depth for colonial and racist settlement expansion, which leads to undermining any chance of realizing the Palestinian state on the ground with its capital in East Jerusalem, and applying the principle of the two-state solution.
The ministry held the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for the results of this escalation and its repercussions, and believes that the extreme right Israeli government is racing against time to implement more of its colonial expansion plans at the expense of the land of the State of Palestine, in order to unilaterally dictate the future of final status negotiation issues under the force of occupation and according to the agenda of the far-right and Israeli right.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry affirmed that the world must look at what the hands of Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and Smotrich are doing, and not be misled by some deceptive cosmetic phrases heard from certain Israeli officials regarding peace, and it must also realize that the concept of peace for this extremist government goes no further than the options Smotrich presents to the Palestinian citizen, which are either surrender, killing, or displacement, and it also seems that the intensification of settlement in the occupied West Bank and its annexation falls within Netanyahu's concept of peace.
