The Canadian passport is one of the strongest passports in the world, ranking fourth globally. Canadians enjoy visa-free access to more than 170 countries.
Canada has unveiled a new passport design with advanced security features, where personal information will be laser-engraved instead of printed with ink.
Images related to nature in Canada will also be printed on the passport pages, but they will only appear under ultraviolet light.
Additionally, the cover design has been changed for the first time in decades, with the golden coat of arms being combined with the famous maple leaves of Canada, while the cover color will remain the same. The new passport will be introduced later this summer.
The Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship said: "The new Canadian passport is more than just a travel document. It is a representation of our national identity and values."
He added: "It is a reminder of Canada's beauty and diversity, and reflects the state's commitment to welcoming people from all over the world."
In reference to Canada's status in the British Commonwealth, the new travel document also refers to the British royal family. However, due to the lengthy design process, the passport will display the coat of arms of Queen Elizabeth II instead of that of the newly crowned King Charles III.
