U.S. Secretary of State to Canada to meet with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister

In a tweet on Twitter, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced his intention to visit Canada today to meet with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly, saying, "Looking forward to traveling to Canada today and meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly."

He explained, "The United States has no closer friend than Canada, and our shared values remain the enduring foundation of our collective security and prosperity."

For her part, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly welcomed this visit through a tweet on Twitter in which she said, "Looking forward to welcoming you today in Canada."
