The Uruguay national team won the bronze medal and third place in the Copa America, after defeating Canada early Sunday morning in a penalty shootout 4-3 after the original time ended in a 2-2 draw in the match held at Bank of America Stadium.

The Canadian team almost claimed their first bronze in history, but the veteran Luis Suarez had a different opinion, as Uruguay took the lead through Bentancur in the 8th minute, and Kone equalized for Canada in the 22nd minute. David scored the second for Canada in the 80th minute, but Suarez managed to equalize in the 92nd minute.

Copa America Final
The Argentina national team will meet their Colombian counterpart at three o'clock early tomorrow, Monday, in the match scheduled to take place at Hard Rock Stadium, for the title of the Copa America 2024 final.

Canada vs Uruguay
The Canadian team qualified for the third place match after losing to Argentina in the semifinals, while Uruguay lost to Colombia.

Uruguay has not been in the Copa America semifinals since winning its 15th and final title in the 2011 edition of the tournament, as they have exited in the quarterfinals three times in the last four editions.
