Toyota Motor Corporation announced a decline in its sales and production during April, due to the temporary suspension of deliveries for the Prius model and a recession in Japan and China.
The company stated today, Thursday, that its global sales, including those of its subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor and Hino Motors Limited, fell by 4.5% to reach 835,788 vehicles during April, compared to the same period in 2023, according to Bloomberg News Agency.
The company's sales in China dropped by 27%, while deliveries in Japan declined by 14%.
The company's sales increased by 20% in Europe and 16% in North America.
The company's production worldwide decreased by 8.8% to reach 816,601 vehicles during April.
