Toronto Zoo advises its visitors to avoid showing videos and photos on their mobile phones to its gorillas as it distracts the monkeys.

Holly Ross, the behavior training supervisor at the zoo, said during an interview with CP24, "We just want the gorilla to be able to be a gorilla, and when our guests come to the zoo, we want them to be able to see the gorilla in a very natural state, and what they will naturally do to communicate with them on this level."

The zoo placed signs in the gorilla enclosure to remind guests not to show videos or photos to the primates, as some content may be disturbing and affect their relationships and behavior within their families.

Ross said, "While the gorilla's fascination with videos is primarily out of curiosity, the zoo wants to ensure it does not become a problem," adding that they have not noticed any significant behavioral changes so far. "We really don't want our guests to come and show them videos. We prefer that they watch them doing gorilla things."
