With the ongoing summer heatwave in Southern California, the backyard pool is an inviting place to swim, even for the bear.
Burbank police responded to a report of a bear sighting in a residential neighborhood and found the animal sitting in a jacuzzi behind one of the houses.
After a brief dip, the bear climbed a wall and headed to a tree behind the house, according to police in a statement on Friday.
The police released video of the animal in the neighborhood, which is about 10 miles (16 kilometers) north of Los Angeles and near the Verdugo Mountains.
Burbank police issued warnings to residents to avoid bears and keep all trash and food in closed containers to deter bears from coming to their homes.
