Did you know?! The loudest sound ever recorded in the world is the explosion of the Krakatoa volcano in Indonesia in 1883, where its sound was so loud that it tore the eardrums of those 40 miles away, and it was clearly heard from 5000 km away, and it even traveled around the world 4 times!

The volcanic eruption began in the afternoon of August 26, 1883, and reached its peak with a number of destructive explosions. On August 27, two-thirds of the island collapsed in a series of massive, devastating explosions even to the surrounding archipelago, forming the most violent destructive explosion in recorded history, causing a tsunami, injuries, and fatalities reaching at least 36,417, and its impact extended to the entire world.

The shape of the strait changed due to the explosion, and the volume of debris and volcanic eruption was so massive that it formed new islands by its action, and its debris spread over the Indian Ocean reaching Madagascar.
