Toronto police issued a warning after finding an unspecified amount of cannabis products packaged to resemble popular candy products in an unlicensed dispensary.
Officers executed a search warrant on Tuesday in the Wilson Street and Bathurst Street area. According to the police, the products appear to imitate candy products that are "made and marketed for people."
Product images appear to show a variety of gummy candies, including "Stoner Patch" - Kids" - and "Double Stuff Stoned" - which closely resemble Oreo.
The police said in a press release issued Thursday: "Police warn parents to ensure that children do not access these products that could be harmful, and to warn their children that these products are not candy."
It is not yet clear whether the dispensary owner has a criminal record. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or reach out to the Stoppers program anonymously.
