Oshawa: Arrest of a man carrying two swords and firearms

Durham Regional Police say a man was arrested and charged after officers found him carrying two samurai swords and a replica firearm in downtown Oshawa.
 

The police say the officers were on foot patrol on Friday when they saw a man sitting with two samurai swords on his lap.

Adding, the man was taken into custody without incident.

Alongside the swords, the police said officers seized several knives and a replica firearm.

Robert Scott, 36, was charged with failing to comply with a court order and possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace.

 The police said he was released on a promise to appear.
