The statement said the police are investigating after nearly 200 kilograms of explosives were stolen from a company in a rural area southeast of Regina.
Canadian police added that the investigation determined that the theft occurred between 4 and 4:30 a.m. on May 1.
They also issued a warning to residents: "If you find potential explosives, do not touch them and contact the police immediately, as the Saskatchewan Police have a special unit trained to handle explosive materials."
Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact the local police service at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers online.
