A man injured no fewer than five people with an air-powered weapon in the city of Victoriaville in the middle of Quebec province in eastern Canada on Saturday evening, according to local police.
The police said: "According to preliminary information, a 36-year-old man was walking down the street firing projectile bullets."
Eyewitnesses said he was carrying an object resembling a gun in his hand, threatening people in his path.
The police confirmed that "about five people were affected by the incident, some of whom sustained minor injuries."
Security forces were able to arrest the suspect who appeared in court on Sunday afternoon. The man faces charges of using what resembles a firearm to commit an armed assault.
