Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, said that Israel must protect civilians and infrastructure in Gaza, noting that "more than 76,000 Palestinian civilians are seeking refuge in schools."

Guterres expressed his dismay during a press statement today, Monday, about the Israeli blockade on Gaza, stressing the need for all parties to provide urgent assistance to those besieged in Gaza and that humanitarian aid must be allowed into the Gaza Strip.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations clarified that imposing a complete blockade on Gaza and preventing the entry of aid is unacceptable, and that efforts must be made to launch a peace process between Palestine and Israel, pointing to reports of bombing of health facilities and residential towers in Gaza, highlighting the necessity of a two-state solution to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
