The Scottish government announced that it will cease holding any meetings with Israeli officials until "real progress" is made towards achieving a peace agreement.
This announcement comes in a statement issued by Foreign Minister Angus Robertson, who apologized for holding a meeting two weeks ago with Israeli Deputy Envoy Daniella Grudsky.
Robertson faced fierce backlash in his party over this meeting and issued a statement saying that it was never intended to be seen as "legitimizing the actions of the Israeli government in Gaza."
He added, according to the "Times of Israel," that "it is inappropriate to accept any invitation for another meeting. This will remain our position until real progress is made towards peace, unrestricted access for humanitarian aid is provided, and Israel fully cooperates with its international obligations regarding the investigation of genocide and war crimes."
