The Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced today, Friday, his refusal to target civilians in the Gaza Strip in any form and under any pretext.
Bin Salman called during his speech at the opening of the Riyadh summit between Gulf countries and ASEAN for an end to military operations against civilians and infrastructure in the region, adding: "It pains us to see the escalating violence against civilians and infrastructure in Gaza, which is paid for by the innocent."
Bin Salman pointed out that conditions should be created for the return of stability and the achievement of lasting peace, which guarantees the access to a just solution through the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.
Bin Salman confirmed during a phone call he received yesterday, Thursday, from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres the importance of working to create conditions for the return of stability and the restoration of the peace process, ensuring that the Palestinian people obtain their legitimate rights.
He emphasized the importance of the UN's role and its institutions in providing safe humanitarian corridors to deliver medical care and food needs to civilians who are under siege in the Gaza Strip.
