The French President Emmanuel Macron has just arrived in Tel Aviv to discuss the developments in the Middle East and the escalating conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a few days ago via the X platform (formerly Twitter) prior to the issuance of the Élysée statement about an anticipated visit from the French President and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

It is noteworthy that both U.S. President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak have visited Israel, in addition to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who visited last Saturday, while the French President reaffirmed on "Friday" that he would visit the Middle East if it would allow for achieving "beneficial" breakthroughs.

In the same context, former U.S. President Barack Obama commented on the escalation of violence in the Middle East after the October 7 attack and the continuous bombings by Israeli aircraft on civilians in Gaza.

He said, "While we support Israel, we must be clear about the way it conducts its war against Hamas; it must adhere to international law."

The former U.S. President added that the Israeli government's decision to cut off food, water, and electricity to civilians in Gaza is leading to the erosion of global support for Israel.

The spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Dr. Ashraf al-Qudra, announced that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 5,100 martyrs and 16,000 injured.
