Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, that his country has never overstepped its borders throughout history, and its only goal is to protect its borders and ensure its national security.

In a speech during his inspection of the Fourth Armored Division's war readiness procedures in Suez, Sisi emphasized that Egypt deals with all crises with reason and patience to achieve what is possible without overstepping in the use of force, adding that one of the characteristics of the Egyptian army is that it is "a wise and prudent force that builds and protects, not aggresses."

This comes at a time when the Gaza Strip, on Egypt's northeastern border, is witnessing a fierce military campaign and confrontation between the occupying entity and the Palestinian resistance, which erupted on October 7 when Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood at the Gaza envelope level.

The Egyptian president commented on this, saying, "We play a positive role in containing the escalation in Gaza and reaching a ceasefire in one way or another," and he affirmed that the solution to the Palestinian issue lies in a diplomatic resolution, which is a two-state solution.

For his part, the commander of the Third Field Army, Major General Sherif Qudwa Al-Araishi, addressed Sisi, saying: "I assure you that we are today at the highest levels of combat efficiency and readiness, ready to cover the ground within our responsibility, or anywhere else we are tasked to go, keeping in mind the higher interest of the country and maintaining its security and safety, offering ourselves and our lives in sacrifice for its precious soil, sparing no effort in training."

"War inspection" is a military term that means ensuring the readiness of a specific military unit to carry out any urgent mission assigned to it. It falls within the scope of the Third Field Army, covering the governorates of Suez and South Sinai, and the central part of North Sinai, also responsible for securing the Suez Canal. Its range starts from the midpoint of the Egypt-Suez road at kilometer 61 and ends at the international border line opposite the "Ras Mohamed" reserve in South Sinai, covering a distance of 400 kilometers.
