Major General Khaled Magawar, Governor of North Sinai, received Harbite Kouchar, Assistant Minister of Canadian Immigration, and his accompanying delegation today in the conference hall of the governorate's headquarters in Al-Arish, in the presence of Major General Osama Al-Ghandour, Secretary General of the Governorate, and Lotfi Qayth, Director of Operations for the Egyptian Red Crescent.

The Canadian delegation included Jennifer McLentire, Assistant to the Canadian Assistant Minister of Immigration, Louis Douma, Canadian Ambassador to Egypt, Erin Bruce, Immigration Program Manager at the Canadian Embassy in Egypt, and a number of employees from the Canadian Embassy in Cairo.

The governor confirmed that the directives of the political leadership focus on two files: one is the economic empowerment of citizens in North Sinai, and the other is the file related to aid for the Gaza Strip, in which the Egyptian Red Crescent is making significant efforts to receive, store, code, and reload on trucks to enter into the Gaza Strip.

For his part, Harbite Kouchar, the Canadian Assistant Minister of Immigration, thanked the Governor of North Sinai and the local leaders for the warm reception, appreciating the significant role that the Arab Republic of Egypt plays in maintaining stability in the Middle East, containing the situation in the Gaza Strip, and delivering aid to civilians in the area.

During their visit to the governorate, the Canadian delegation, accompanied by the governor and the Secretary General of the governorate, is inspecting the logistical warehouses of the Egyptian Red Crescent in Al-Arish and visiting the Rafah land crossing from the Egyptian side.
