The Canadian Statistics Agency said that the total number of jobs in Canada during the month of December remained almost unchanged during the month, with the unemployment rate remaining steady at 5.8%.
The agency says the economy added nearly 100 jobs for the last month of the year.
This result appeared with a decrease in full-time jobs by 23,500 jobs in December, offset by an increase of 23,600 part-time jobs in the month.
The number of jobs in the professional, scientific, and technical services sector also increased by 45,700 jobs in the month, while in the healthcare and social assistance field, the number of jobs increased by 15,500 jobs, whereas it decreased by 20,600 jobs in the wholesale and retail trade sector in December.
