Kuwait today, Saturday, May 13, 2023, signed a memorandum of understanding with Canada regarding the establishment of a bilateral political consultation mechanism between the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Canadian counterpart to develop and strengthen bilateral relations in all fields and at various levels.
Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and a Bilateral Consultation Session
Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs, signed the memorandum of understanding with Mélanie Joly, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development. This was followed by a bilateral consultation session that addressed the overall aspects of the close historical relations linking the two countries and the frameworks for enhancing and developing them at various levels.
Joint Coordination and Cooperation
During the talks, the two sides discussed ways to intensify joint coordination and the existing cooperation between the two parties on many regional and international issues and explored ways to continue joint efforts in establishing the pillars of international security and peace. They also touched on the most prominent regional and international developments and discussed the frameworks of joint coordination regarding them.
