The search continued today, Saturday, for a one-month-old infant who was in an SUV that fell into the Mille Iles River between Laval and Deux Montagnes north of Montreal. In the same context, officials had announced the rescue of a woman in her thirties, along with the infant's four-year-old sister, from the car after they fell into the river on Friday, just before 5 PM. Additionally, Laval police divers (SPL) were present at the Grand Moulin slopes surrounding Turcot Island searching for the infant, assisted by search and rescue agents from the Sureté du Québec (SQ) as well as firefighters. As of Saturday morning, investigators had no idea where the child was located.

Also, the Laval police spokesperson, Erika Landry, said they received a call at around 4:45 PM on Friday to 911 reporting a partially submerged vehicle in the river. Police and firefighters then gathered on Des Érables Street near Saint_Antoine Street, where they quickly tried to rescue the mother and her two children; later she and her daughter were taken to the hospital for treatment, and their condition details have not been disclosed. SPL crime investigators continue their investigation to try to understand how the vehicle ended up in the water.
