For the first time in its 16-year history, Porter Airlines will operate commercial flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The flights will connect Toronto with Vancouver, Ottawa, and Montreal starting February 2023, with the airline promising a "pleasant economic air travel experience for every passenger."

Porter also stated that there will be multiple non-stop flights to these three locations daily, at prices ranging from about $225 to $248 for a round trip.

Michael Deluce, President and CEO of Porter Airlines, said: "The introduction of the Porter E195-E2 aircraft provides the capability to operate across North America, including the West Coast, putting us in a better position to meet the needs of many business and leisure travelers. This investment offers a new level of thoughtful service, unmatched by any other airline in North America, which will change the way passengers think about the economic air travel."

The planes used on these flights are Embraer E195-E2 commercial aircraft with 132 seats, which according to the airline are quieter and more fuel-efficient than other similarly sized aircraft. It also claims to be the only airline whose twin configuration means no middle seats.

As part of the "new economic experience" at Pearson Airport, the airline promises to offer free beer and wine alongside a selection of premium snacks. There will also be free WiFi on all flights, with "fresh meals" on longer flights.

Also for Porter, this new development marks a milestone, as it will be the first time the airline flies from Pearson International Airport alongside other major airlines such as Air Canada, WestJet, and Air Transat.

Likewise, Janick Rhéaume, Director of Strategic Customer Relations at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, said in a statement: "We are pleased to welcome Porter Airlines to Toronto Pearson. As demand for travel continues to increase, we are happy to have Porter Airlines join us to provide more options for our travelers."
