Palestinian Health Minister Dr. Mai Alkila announced the registration of 1000 cases of hepatitis A, according to Al Arabiya channel in a breaking news report a short while ago.

At the end of last month, the World Health Organization announced a "significant increase" in some infectious diseases in Gaza, specifically noting a 45-fold increase in diarrhea cases among children, while most hospitals in the sector have ceased operations due to the war.

UN estimates indicate that more than 1.8 million people in the Gaza Strip have fled their homes over the past seven weeks, with about 60 percent of them living in 156 facilities belonging to "UNRWA".

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza, Hisham Mahana, confirmed the necessity of political action to put an end to the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, especially given the limited humanitarian aid entering it and the difficulty in delivering assistance to the north, and the inability of humanitarian teams to fully perform their tasks amid all those challenges and the absence of necessary security measures.

The Red Cross spokesperson said, in an intervention on «Sky News Arabia» channel, today Tuesday, that if these conditions continue in Gaza, we will witness a complete collapse of the humanitarian situation, especially given the extreme difficulty for institutions to operate, lack of security measures, and absence of quality healthcare.

He added that the humanitarian situation after the breaking of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip has deteriorated unprecedentedly compared to before, due to the transfer of hostilities to the southern Gaza Strip, especially in Khan Yunis.

He pointed out that 8 out of every 10 people in the Gaza Strip are displaced, which has exacerbated the crisis and humanitarian needs, and there is no longer a safe place in the sector, nor a place for civilians to take shelter, and the occupancy rate in hospitals in southern Gaza has become 200%.
