Owen Sound police have charged an 81-year-old man with sexual assault.

The police said they began an investigation after a complaint was filed by two young girls who said they were touched inappropriately on a school bus.

The man worked as a school bus monitor for a local company and has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

The police say the man worked for three Catholic schools in Owen Sound and that there may be additional victims.

The police also urged anyone else who has been harassed to come forward and speak to school officials.

The police added that they will not conduct direct investigations with the victims but will work with their guardians to investigate the circumstances of the case against the man accused of sexually assaulting children.
