Ottawa police said that two men were killed and six others were injured in a shooting last night outside the Infinity Conference Centre in the southern part of Ottawa.
The shooting occurred while the victims were attending a wedding.
Unverified information indicates that the victims are from the Muslim Arab community.
Emergency crews responded to reports of the shooting at 2900 Gifford Drive, near Uplands Drive and Hunt Club Road, at 10:20 PM on Saturday.
Police say the shooting took place outside the Infinity Conference Centre.
Residents living near the incident reported hearing between 20 and 25 gunshots.
In a press release on Sunday morning, police stated that the victims were attending a wedding at the conference centre at 2900 Gifford Drive when the shooting occurred outside the facility.
The names of the two men who were killed in the shooting have not been released, but police say they were not residents of Ottawa.
No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting, but police said on platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that there is no evidence that the shooting was motivated by hate.
Police stated: "We are investigating all facets of the incident and the investigation is ongoing, and the police are asking any witnesses to come forward.
Police said, "Anyone with a mobile phone, dashcam, video, or any recordings of the area between 10 PM and 10:30 PM is asked to contact the Operations Service Office."
Anyone with information about the nature and background of the incident can contact the Ottawa Police Homicide Unit at

Police stated in a statement, "This violence is tragic and unacceptable. It is concerning for our entire community."
On another note, police are in contact with community leaders to ensure support for the victims' families in the Gloucester-Southgate area.
Jessica Bradley stated that she had the opportunity to speak with Ottawa Police Chief Eric Stubbs on Sunday.
Bradley told local media: "He assured us that there is still a direct threat to the public.
She noted that there is calm now and hopes to reach the causes of this matter quickly."
She added: "It was close to several neighborhoods in the area, so people feel it."
Additionally, "I sent a group email to residents to inform them that if anyone needs anything, I can connect them with the appropriate resources."
