The regional police arrested a man from Kingston in connection with two suspicious fires that destroyed a community center and a home garage in the Napanee area.

According to a press release from the Ontario County Police, Jay Nelson Bradley, 49, is charged with the following:

Two counts of arson – reckless disregard for human life.
Criminal harassment – threatening behavior.
Possession of incendiary materials.

Investigators say the charges come following two fires that occurred on October 23, which resulted in the burning of the Napanee Memorial Community Center and a garage in nearby Stone Mills, both of which are linked to the Lennox Agricultural Society.

The organization owns the community center, and the burned garage was at the home of its president, Carol MacKinley.

Police earlier said they were "aware of the connections" between the two fires, and police explained that Bradley was arrested on Friday after searches at three locations in Kingston.

No one was injured in either fire. Police said they continue to investigate.

A third fire, which police also considered suspicious, occurred just two days later and two doors down from the MacKinley family home.

They burned their neighbor's garage. Police have not announced any charges related to this incident.
