Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a series of meetings with his senior security aides to discuss ways to launch the upcoming attack on Iran, following the breach of Israeli air defenses by a drone belonging to the Lebanese group "Hezbollah," which exploded near his home, according to "Bloomberg."
"Bloomberg" reported on Sunday that planning for this attack has been ongoing for three weeks, after Iran launched about 200 ballistic missiles toward Israel.
It added that the "precise" drone attack on Netanyahu's home north of Tel Aviv on Saturday shocked many Israelis, and although the Prime Minister and his wife were not at home, and no one was injured, Netanyahu and his ministers considered the attack "another justification for retaliation."
Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz told Israeli Channel "14" on Saturday evening: "There is no doubt that a new red line has been crossed here... We must thwart Iran's ability to pose a threat."
During Israel's assessment of its next step against Iran, the head of the internal security service "Shabak," Ronen Bar, traveled to Cairo to discuss ways to renew ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip, according to an Israeli official speaking to "Bloomberg."
Bloomberg clarified that this meeting was the first between heads of security agencies since the assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Yehya Sinwar, by the Israeli army, and no additional information was provided about the meeting's outcomes.
U.S. President Joe Biden and his administration stated in recent days that the assassination of Sinwar should expedite talks, as internal pressure on Netanyahu to do so is increasing, despite opposition from allied hardliners to making concessions.
Iranian Denial
Despite its pledge to respond more forcefully if subjected to an Israeli attack, Iran denied its involvement in the drone attack targeting Netanyahu's home in Qesarya.
A spokesman for the Israeli Prime Minister confirmed that Netanyahu's home in Qesarya was targeted by a drone, but denied that there were any injuries from the attack, stating that Netanyahu and his family were not home at the time of the attack.
Israeli Channel "12" reported that initial investigations indicated that the drone that targeted Netanyahu's home was of the same type as the drone that hit the Israeli military "Golan" base a few days ago, which is of the "Sayed 107" model.
The Israeli Prime Minister said in a video recording hours after the attack: "We will continue until the end, nothing will deter me, and we will prevail in this war."
