In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad said that the Kingdom of Morocco highly values the positive positions and constructive commitments of Spain regarding the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, which were included in the letter sent to King Mohammed VI by the Spanish Prime Minister, His Excellency Mr. Pedro Sanchez.
The statement clarified that the phrases contained in this letter allow for the establishment of a clear and ambitious roadmap aiming to engage, in a sustainable manner, in a bilateral partnership within the framework of the new foundations and guidelines referenced in the royal speech on August 20 last year.
The statement pointed out that King Mohammed VI, in this speech, had called for "the inauguration of a new and unprecedented phase in relations between the two countries, based on trust, transparency, mutual respect, and fulfillment of commitments."
Within this spirit, the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Mr. José Manuel Albares, to Rabat at the end of March and before Ramadan is included.
A visit by the Spanish Prime Minister to the Kingdom of Morocco will also be scheduled at a later time.
