The police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a 19-year-old girl on Thursday in "West Edmonton."
The girl was walking in the area of 156 Street around 8:20 PM, according to the Edmonton Police Department when a man sitting on a house step called out to her.
She continued walking, but noticed the man was following her. The police say he attacked her from behind after moments and assaulted her.
A passerby witnessed the attack, who shouted to distract the assailant, causing the man to leave the woman and run down the alley to 92 Street. The man and the woman did not know each other.
The police described the assailant as between 30 to 40 years old, Indigenous, about 5'9" tall (1.75 meters), with a large muscular build and tattoos on his arms.
He was wearing a blue shirt and white pants at the time of the assault. Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to contact the police at 4567-423-780 or Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
