King Charles held a meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday, the royal family wrote on social media.
The communications office at Buckingham Palace did not provide details about the meeting, except to confirm it was held earlier that day.
The British monarch, King Charles III, was diagnosed with cancer last month and began treatment in London.
The palace said in a statement: "During the recent procedure the king underwent in the hospital to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia, a separate concerning issue was identified. Subsequent diagnostic tests confirmed a type of cancer."
The statement added, "His Majesty has started a schedule of regular treatments, and during this period, doctors have advised him to postpone his public duties."
