At least 85 people were killed and 322 injured in Yemen in a stampede during the distribution of financial aid in the capital, Sana'a.
The tragedy occurred approaching the Eid al-Fitr holiday, a period during which money and aid are often distributed to the poor.
In this context, a Houthi security official said: "85 people were killed and more than 322 injured, including 50 in critical condition," in the stampede incident.
A medical official also confirmed the toll of the incident that took place in the Bab al-Yemen area in central Sana'a, according to the French news agency, noting that among the dead were women and children."
According to France Presse, quoting eyewitnesses, the incident occurred inside a school where hundreds gathered to receive aid, confirming that gunfire led to the stampede.
