At the same time, the White House announced that President Joe Biden's COVID-19 test result is positive and that he is experiencing mild symptoms.
Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, stated that the American president has received the COVID vaccine and the booster shot. Biden had previously contracted COVID twice.
Biden, who is 81 years old, was seen earlier on Wednesday speaking to his supporters at an event in Las Vegas. He canceled a campaign speech in the city that was scheduled for later.
Jean-Pierre mentioned that President Biden will isolate at his home in Delaware and that he will "fully carry out all his duties during that period."
Biden's doctor, Kevin O'Connor, noted that Biden was showing upper respiratory symptoms, including a runny nose and cough, and he has been given the first dose of Paxlovid.
