The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, amid the escalating war in Gaza, in Netanyahu's first conversation with an Arab leader since the outbreak of the war.

The Emirates News Agency "WAM" reported that "Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the State, continues his intensive communications with leaders of Arab and foreign countries to stop the violence and escalation taking place in Gaza, and to mobilize international efforts to ensure respect for international humanitarian law and provide protection for civilians, sparing them the worsening suffering resulting from concerning field developments."

According to the agency, the communications conducted by bin Zayed included "Jordan's King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu."

The Emirati President emphasized during the communications the "priority of preserving civilian lives and not involving them in the cycle of violence and the escalating conflict, and exercising legal responsibility that guarantees their protection and safety, especially children, women, and the elderly during conflicts and the release of hostages."

He stressed the need to open urgent humanitarian corridors to transport medical and relief aid to Gaza without obstacles, and to facilitate the access of mechanisms capable of providing the necessary protection for these corridors and enabling the relevant humanitarian organizations to carry out their responsibilities, ensuring that the suffering witnessed by the sector does not escalate due to the rising violence, with more than two million people present, the vast majority of whom are innocent civilians not involved in the ongoing conflict.

The communications also addressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts aimed at containing the situation and seeking avenues for calming to prevent the escalation and spread of violence and not to slip into more tension and escalation, due to the serious implications this has on regional and international stability and peace.

The suffering of Gaza continues as a result of the war, with its residents waking up and going to sleep seeing dozens of dead and hundreds injured due to Israeli airstrikes.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced in Gaza that the death toll from the ongoing war has risen to 2,670, with more than 9,600 others injured in various ways.

According to statistics from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, nearly 1,000 children and 700 women have been killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes, and more than 2,000 children and 1,400 women have been injured in various ways.
