The Canadian Ministry of Health and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalled various items this week, including more unauthorized skin lightening creams and exercise supplements, while the Canadian Transportation Agency reported an issue involving tens of thousands of Tesla cars.

Tesla Autopilot:

After more than two million Tesla vehicles across different models were recalled in the United States due to a problem with the Autopilot function, the Canadian Transportation Agency said on Wednesday that the recall will affect about 193,000 vehicles in Canada.

The Ministry of Transport said the recall will be added to its database of vehicles with safety-related recalls.

The Canadian Transportation Agency also said Tesla is expected to provide an over-the-air software update to fix the advanced driver assistance features.

According to an investigation conducted by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall affects vehicles produced between October 5, 2012, and December 7 of this year.

U.S. safety regulators had investigated a series of incidents involving Tesla's Autopilot feature, some of which were fatal.

Window blinds:

The Canadian Ministry of Health issued a recall on Wednesday for various window blinds due to a choking hazard.

Wireless Taylor & Olive window blinds, sold on the Bed, Bath and Beyond website and available in several colors, were recalled after failing to meet wired window coverings regulations.

The recall notice stated that the bottom rail end caps may detach, creating a small hazardous part posing a choking risk to young children.

Less than 30 colors were recalled, ranging from March 2022 to November 2023.

The company stated that no injuries had been reported in Canada as of December 11.

The Ministry of Health also added that customers should stop using the recalled items and contact the company for a free replacement end cap set.

The Canadian Ministry of Health also recalled Cooper Grove Yerevan top-down bottom-up blinds on Thursday, in various colors, due to a choking hazard.

The window shades, also sold on the Bed Bath and Beyond website, failed to meet standard covering regulations.

The recall notice stated that children could become entangled in the blind cords, which could lead to choking and even death.

The company said 77 units were sold in Canada between June 2022 and August 2023, and no reports of incidents or injuries had been received in Canada as of December 7.

Unauthorized products:

The Canadian Ministry of Health issued a recall on Wednesday for additional unauthorized products, including skin lightening treatments, sexual enhancement products, and exercise supplements due to potential serious health risks.

The Ministry listed the Hadalabo Pearl Barley Facial foam as the latest skincare product recall—used to treat skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis—citing it contains aminocaproic acid.

For sexual enhancement products, Black Panther Triple Maxi, Premium Pro Power 3500 Gold Rhino Extreme 500K, and Rhino 99 Diamond 30000 were recently recalled and classified as containing "yohimbe" and "tadalafil," according to the recall notice.

The Canadian Ministry of Health also added the following exercise supplements to the recall: Ax & Sledge – The Grind, in various flavors, and 5% Knocked the Fck Out, in two flavors. All products were classified as containing L-tryptophan.

The items were tested and found to contain "dangerous ingredients" and were not appropriately labeled to include these ingredients, according to the recall notice.

The recall of these unauthorized products, including weight loss aids as exercise supplements, dates back to November 2017.

The Canadian Ministry of Health urges consumers to stop using these unauthorized items and consult a healthcare provider if they have used them.

Unauthorized injectable medication:

The Canadian Ministry of Health issued a recall on Wednesday for an unauthorized injectable pharmaceutical product sold by Canlab due to serious health risks.

According to the recall, the products are promoted as peptides and sold online on two Canlab Research websites, including www.canlabresearch.com and www.canlab.net.

The Ministry of Health said some prescription injectable drugs sold on Canlab sites include oxytocin and triptorelin.

The Canadian Ministry of Health stated: "Most synthetic injectable peptides are regulated as prescription drugs in Canada and require a prescription from a licensed healthcare professional."

The Canadian Ministry of Health also urged consumers to purchase prescription medications from licensed pharmacies and to stop using these products.
