Snow has fallen all over Toronto, and the Canadian Environmental Agency issued a winter travel warning indicating that conditions may be difficult in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) on Tuesday.
The weather agency said that at the peak of the weather, between two to three centimeters of snow could fall per hour.
The total snowfall is expected to range between four to eight centimeters.
Temperatures in the city of Toronto are also expected to reach six centimeters starting from Monday afternoon.
The city said in a bulletin that salting and plowing operations will be activated on Tuesday as needed, confirming that it is monitoring the situation 24 hours a day.
Plowing will also begin on highways when snowfall reaches 2.5 cm, on main roads when snow depth reaches 5 cm in the city, and on residential streets when snowfall reaches 8 cm or more.
The warning said that drivers should expect dangerous driving conditions and adjust their travel plans accordingly.
According to the Canadian Environmental Agency, the high temperature mark will rise above 0 degrees Celsius from Wednesday to Saturday, with Friday’s temperature expected to reach 7 degrees Celsius.
