A Hamas official said that the movement will not agree to release any hostages from the settlers unless the occupation stops its violent attacks on Gaza and more aid enters the Gaza Strip.
Taheer Al-Nounou, the media advisor to Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, explained that the movement "is not ready to discuss releasing more hostages until the occupation ends its military campaign in Gaza and increases the amount of humanitarian aid to the civilians."
He also stated during an interview with the news agency "Reuters," conducted in Cairo: "The issue of prisoners can be negotiated after these two matters. We cannot talk about negotiations while Israel continues its aggression. Any discussion about prisoners must take place after the aggression stops."
He added: "The movement's delegation provided a detailed explanation of the field and political situations, the needs required to improve humanitarian conditions, increase aid for the Palestinian people, and deliver this aid to all areas of the Gaza Strip in the north and south."
Al-Nounou said: "We spoke clearly with our brothers in Egypt about our stance towards this aggression and the necessity of stopping it as a priority now."
