Joudloup forces a draw against Canada in the CONCACAF Cup in a match of own goals

The Guadeloupe national team caused a surprise after they forced a draw against the Canadian national team, on their home ground, with a score of two goals each, in the opening matches of Group D of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, held in the United States and Canada.

The Guadeloupe team opened the scoring at the 23rd minute of the match, through Terry Ambrose, before the Canadians equalized early in the second half through Lucas Daniel Cavallini in the 49th minute.

At the 70th minute, Midi Lina, a Guadeloupe player, scored an own goal, giving Canada the lead, before Jason Russell Rowe returned the favor by scoring an own goal against the Canadian team at a crucial time in the third minute of injury time, allowing Guadeloupe to snatch a valuable draw in the opening of their campaign in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Guatemala and Cuba teams will meet for the same group, in the conclusion of the first round of the group stage of the tournament.
