The spokesperson for the Polish government, Piotr Müller, announced that his country will gradually cancel financial assistance to refugees from Ukraine in 2024.

In response to a question regarding assistance for Ukrainian refugees, Müller said: "These decisions made after the outbreak of the war are temporary, and that's all I can say," according to what was reported by the Ukrainian news agency Interfax Ukraine on Thursday.

At the same time, the Polish politician pointed out that the phase in which "Ukrainians fled their country en masse due to the war has already ended," thus financial assistance decisions will be gradually canceled, which follows the law of March 12, 2022, on assisting Ukrainian citizens regarding the armed conflict on Ukrainian territory." He added that the cancellation period for aid is likely to begin "in the first quarter" of next year.

Ukrainian Deputy Interior Minister Leonid Tymchенко stated live at the national ceremony on Thursday: "So far, there are more than 26,000 people missing under special circumstances. About 11,000 of them are civilians, and approximately 15,000 are military personnel."

He clarified that information about each missing person is being recorded and a register is being kept, adding, "We are cooperating with the Ukrainian National Police and the Main Intelligence Agency, which is involved in coordinating the search."

On the ground, the head of the military administration of the Kherson region in southern Ukraine, Oleksandr Prokudin, announced that two civilians were killed while a man and a woman were seriously injured due to shelling carried out by Russian troops today, Thursday, in the region.

Prokudin mentioned in a statement reported by the official Ukrainian news agency "Ukrinform" that the Russian army fired this morning on a center in Kherson, resulting in serious injuries to a man and a woman, in addition to the death of two residents of the area.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that so far, 11,000 civilians and 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers are considered missing.
