Google announced the improvement of the new Gemini 1.5 and Gemini 1.5 Pro AI model; to achieve more advanced quality.
The company said in a statement that this model is medium-sized, multimodal, and capable of handling a wide range of tasks, and that the new Gemini 1.5 Pro version is 87 percent better than the first version launched at the end of last year.
AI models consist of Tokens, which are the building blocks used to process information, and tokens can be whole parts or sub-sections of words, images, videos, audio, or code. The capabilities of AI systems in absorbing and processing information increase with the number of tokens, which also leads to improved outputs and results.
Google will increase the number of tokens in the Gemini 1.5 Pro model to reach 128 thousand tokens, and it is also testing the same model with one million tokens on a limited scale for developers and companies, while making improvements to response time, reducing computational requirements, and enhancing user experience. The upgraded model can seamlessly analyze, categorize, and summarize large amounts of content, perform highly complex tasks based on understanding and reasoning, and execute tasks more related to problem-solving across long sets of code.
Google rebranded its AI assistant as Gemini instead of the previous name Bard, which currently operates on the Gemini Pro 1.0 model and is available in more than one country and in more than 40 languages.
