German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that he signed, today Tuesday, a decree to conduct a preliminary disciplinary examination for participants in the leaked recordings of senior German officers regarding potential attacks on the Crimean Bridge using Taurus missiles.
Pistorius said during a press conference: "This morning I signed a decree for a disciplinary investigation of the officers involved in the audio recordings."
Pistorius added: "The initial conclusion is that communication systems were not compromised," following the leak of a conversation among German military personnel.
Pistorius also added that the leak of the German military personnel's conversations about targeting the Crimean Bridge was caused by an individual error related to one participant using an unsecured communication system that is not protected.
Pistorius said: "Again, there are no personal consequences on the agenda at this time."
On March 1, Margarita Simonyan, the Editor-in-Chief of the media group "Russia Today," and the networks of "RT" and the Russian agencies "Sputnik" revealed details of the audio recording content, which reveals conversations of senior German officers regarding attacks on the Crimean Bridge.
The discussions took place between the head of operations and exercises department of the German Air Force command Frank Greifen, Air Force inspector Ingo Gerhartz, and officers of the Air Operations Center Venske and Frostedt.
Russian Presidential spokesperson (Kremlin) Dmitry Peskov said the content of the conversation between the German officers confirms the direct involvement of the West in the ongoing conflict over Ukraine.
Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Maria Zakharova said the West must bear responsibility for the destructive acts that were largely planned and executed.
