Cybersecurity experts have warned users of phones operating on the "Android" operating system about a dangerous spyware program.
Experts at the cybersecurity company Cyfirma stated that the SafeChat application, which was available on the "Google" store, is one of the malicious malware programs.
According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail," citing the cybersecurity company, the "malicious" application deceives its users by obtaining more permissions compared to other applications.
After obtaining these permissions, the application can access any information it wants stored or linked to the phone.
Although the application has been removed from the "Google" store, it will remain on the user's phone if it has been downloaded previously.
In this case, the user will need to manually delete the application, noting that it is capable of stealing call log data, GPS locations, accessing messages and data, and much more.
Cyfirma did not disclose how "hackers" attract users to download the application, but experts believe they suggest transferring conversations from platforms like "Facebook" and "WhatsApp" to others, considering them to be "more secure."
