At least eight people have died after heavy rainfall caused flooding in southwest China, according to China's Xinhua News Agency on Sunday.
Xinhua reported that more than 30 people are still missing after floods hit Sichuan Province in southwest China.
Relief efforts are ongoing with the participation of more than 400 people.
It is noted that China is always subjected to tropical rains, especially during the summer months.
At least 12 people had died after a bridge collapsed on a highway in northwest China last Friday.
