Agencies: Mayor Dorine Asaad, mayor of the city of Brossard in the Quebec province of Canada, said that the Egyptian community in Canada includes great figures, and that the success of the Maraghi couple is a pride for all Egyptians in Canada.

Dorine praised the Speak Arabic initiative, saying that the best times were during her visit to Egypt, and that its people have beautiful spirits, there is love and true beauty, and that she loves Egypt and everything in it.

This came during her participation in the celebration of the children of the Egyptian community in Canada, on the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the Nile Club, honoring the two Egyptian scientists: Dr. Huda Maraghi, for being awarded the highest civilian medal in Canada for her contributions in the field of mechanical engineering as well as the development of manufacturing systems in Canada and abroad, and her husband Dr. Wagih Maraghi, for receiving the Canadian Order of Honor, in the presence of Ambassador Nabila Makram Abdel Shaheed, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs.

She added that politics is a challenge at all times, and that she is proud to be the first Egyptian female mayor in Canada, wishing that the Corona pandemic passes well and safely for everyone, explaining that she was planning to visit Egypt with her family this year, hoping for a new year better than the previous one.

Dorine confirmed that she follows the achievements happening on the ground in Egypt, and feels the current magnitude of the burdens, as an Egyptian citizen who loves this country.
