Agencies: Dr. Huda Al-Maraghi, Dean of the Canadian College of Engineering at the University of Windsor, who holds the highest civilian medal in Canada, said that she and her husband, Dr. Wagih Al-Maraghi, never hesitate to develop industry in Egypt, as they have always been keen over the past years to communicate with specialists in Egypt to create electric cars, and they also follow the digital transformation file.
Al-Maraghi added, during an intervention via "Skype" on the program "From Egypt" on "cbc" satellite channel, presented by journalists Amr Khalil and Riham Ibrahim, that she is always proud to be Egyptian in all her appearances at any Canadian or international event, commenting "I am proud to represent my country".
She indicated that she always contributes to training graduate students, who will later become bearers of knowledge and apply it in various fields, some of whom are currently working in Egypt and around the world.
Al-Maraghi continued, "The best thing is for a person to have a righteous child, and I have many children, and I was the only lady advisor on one of the high Canadian councils, and my contribution benefited them in automation, artificial intelligence, and security in the country, and I was honored to serve on this council for 8 years."
She explained that the medal she recently received is the highest civilian medal in Canada, serving as an honor and recognition for scientists on Canadian soil, as she graduated from Cairo University’s Faculty of Engineering, and currently seeks to apply modern technology and artificial intelligence systems in machines to make them more competitive, adding "This field has few who specialize in it in the world."
Dr. Huda confirmed that there is a new classification for the most influential researchers worldwide in their studies, from which everyone benefits, adding "I am among the top half percent globally in engineering and all fields, and this honor came at a beautiful time and I am very happy with it."
She continued, saying, "We want design hand in hand with industry, and we want to manufacture the country's products, and transfer knowledge from research to industry and application, and this is extremely important, and Egypt has paved the way in various directions, all supporting each other and everything is moving together towards a bright future."
Huda thanked Ambassador Nabila Makram for the initiative "Egypt Can Because of Its Sons", affirming that it is an excellent initiative that selects scientists from abroad every year, and "when I met President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, I told him that the economy will not rise except by localizing industry, and I am very happy that this is happening, not only localizing industry technology but also localizing product design from the beginning."
She further added: "I wish Egypt to have the thought and expertise to design a new product like electric cars and cooperate with other companies, and we want to walk with them and build on the information available worldwide, and there is a great trend to encourage industry and localize it in Egypt, and we in Egypt do not want to rely on outside, but we want 'Designed with pride in Egypt'."
