The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) in Ontario recorded two incidents involving police misconduct during a dispersal operation in downtown Ottawa and other cities.
The first incident occurred at around 5:14 p.m. on Friday, and reports indicated that a 49-year-old woman was seriously injured during altercations with a police officer in Toronto near the Parliament buildings.
The unit is also investigating a police use-of-force incident in the Sparks and Bank streets area, directed at protesters away from Wellington Street, with no reports of injuries so far.
The Special Investigations Unit urges anyone who has experienced violence or assaults at the hands of the police to contact its centers throughout the province of Ontario.
