An explosion at a dairy farm in the state of Texas in the southern United States of America led to the death of 18,000 cows and injured one person, according to U.S. authorities announced yesterday, Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Texas Agriculture Commissioner, "Sid Miller," said in a statement that an investigation into the incident has been opened to hold those responsible accountable, describing it as "horrific."
The explosion and fire that occurred on Monday night to Tuesday destroyed the dairy farm located near the town of "Dimmitt" in the "Panhandle" region of Texas.
The office of County Sheriff "Sal Rivera" also stated that there might have been an increase in the temperature of the manure removal system from the barn, indicating that methane gas could "ignite and then spread with the explosion and fire."
